Below are pictures of the repair and restoration of an older Telecaster Electric Guitar. This Tele had been previously modified by the owner and his previous guitar teacher. Previous mods included: Humbucker pick-up in the neck position, Stratocaster pick-up in the middle position (was added), Hot Rails Humbucker in the bridge posistion with a mini switch added. The guitar had heavy corrosion on all metal parts, was missing screws and parts, had a dull finish, fret wear and a non-original pickguard. This guitar had numerous intermittent electrical problems and too much noise and hum.
Because of it's as-is condition including electrical, playing, tuning problems and etc, the guitar received a complete tear-down and a full re-build/repair.
The before pictures show the previous modifications, heavy corrosion, missing parts, dull finish, fret wear, etc
These photo's show the Tele during disassembly but before any repair work was done. Photo's show: Previous routing for the changed pickup's, crud/dirt in the electrical cavities, very bad solder points, rusty and corroded parts. Note: The white powder (Calcium = water deposit) on the electrical parts. The finish was dull, dirty, with dings and scratches and had goo residue on it.Note: all pictures are before any clean up.
Sorry these are all I have. Ted Greene - what can I say?
