Below are pictures of a Kala Ukulele. The Kala Uke came in with High action, fret buzz, dull notes on most, but not all, frets and tuning problems. Note: dead or dull sounding notes on some, but not all strings/frets is a symptom of loose and or not seated frets. Loose frets absorb the vibration and singing quality of the fretted string.
These are the only pictures I took of this repair.
These pictures show the Kala Ukulele before any fret work was performed. Note the "Black Marker" on the frets showing those frets that are loose (About 99% of them).
Note: The non-seated and loose part of the frets were in the middle of the fretboard and not at the fret ends, which is more common. A sign of oversized cut fret slots in the fretboard.
Work Done: Seat and glue frets, top and polish frets, complete set-up: Nut, Saddle. Adjust tuning keys clean and restring. Now it's ready to play. Can we go to Kokomo?
