At MayosMusic we offer Private, Semi-Private and Group guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, fretted instrument and auto-harp lessons. Plus, we are a complete luthier service that includes guitar and amplifier repairs/restorations. Through the years we have been asked numerous "Guitar Lesson" and "Guitar Repair" related questions (many repeatedly) by new/current/old and prospective students and customers. Here is our answer to: Is the teaching studio (the teaching environment) really important to consider when choosing an instructor?
My teaching studio is well equipped for studying the guitar. The room is large, comfortable and can handle up to 3 adult students, or 4 kids plus the teacher for private or small group classes. The studio is equipped with chairs, music stands, instrument stands, electronic tuners, metronomes, and plenty of lighting. The music recording and playback system includes CD, cassette, video, and adapters and cables to input an iPod, or any other digital player, for full range high fidelity sound There are guitar and bass amps, and pedals as needed.
Instruments usually kept at the studio include acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass, ukuleles, autoharps, lap steels, 12 string, and tenor guitars. There is an extensive library of instruction books, artist/band song books, reference, theory, history books about guitar, plus periodicals (magazines) of Guitar Player, Guitar, Bass Player, Acoustic Guitar, Frets, Songwriter, Tone Quest, Vintage Guitar, etc. – all for reference when needed during lessons.
